Kinder Insel Hombroich.
Over the past nineteen years I have been involved in the development of an educational institution for children and young people with an artistic orientation. Together with Oliver Kruse, we have designed a day-school for children »Kinder Insel Hombroich« on the grounds of the Museum Insel Hombroich, and created and furnished an appropriate architecture for it. The architecture, which has been awarded with two architecture prizes, plays an important role in the educational concept. Under the motto »Art parallel to nature« an educational direction has been developed especially for the site, which now functions as a model project for early childhood education.

From this nucleus we developed various projects to bring musical education to children and young people, such as the »Concerts for Children«, the »Streichertage« and a workshop series for school children.

It is part of the concept of the kindergarten to invite artists and musicians to work regularly with the children. Every two years a major artistic project takes place in the kindergarten in collaboration with the artists and the team. These projects are documented on film and in radio plays and books.
